Banking in Serbia

A Serbian bank account is needed for almost everything: salary, rent, paying bills and temporary residence. We choose the bank that suits your situation, prepare the documents and go with you — so that opening an account does not turn into several visits and refusals.

What we do

  • We choose a bank for your purpose: a personal account, a business account, receiving a salary, buying property.
  • We prepare the documents and answer the bank’s questions about the source of funds together with you.
  • We accompany you to the bank meeting as interpreters.
  • We help with cards, online banking, transfers from abroad and foreign currency accounts.

What you should know

Without residence
Non-residents are entitled to open accounts in dinars and in foreign currency. You usually need a passport and proof of address in Serbia (the “white card”), but every bank may ask for more.
Bank checks
Banks verify the client and the source of funds.
Residency
After a year of living in Serbia on temporary residence, you become a resident — you need to inform your bank about this.
Cash
Bringing in or taking out more than EUR 10,000 in cash must be declared at the border. Large purchases, such as property, are paid through a bank.

Taxes and money

We explain how your income is taxed in Serbia and put you in touch with trusted accountants and tax advisers for complex cases.

Requirements depend on your situation and change from time to time. At a free consultation, we will review your case and tell you the current requirements, timelines and costs.
